Arrrrrr!

It be time to ready yerselves for Captain Bloodrum's Treasure Race!

To celebrate the new changes to treasure maps, we'll be holding a contest to find the best of the best treasure hunters on Sonoma. This is a team based event where teams race to be the fastest to complete all six levels of treasure maps. It is not only for treasure hunters. Anyone with a combat character can get in on the action.

This event is a preliminary to an even bigger challenge happening later in August. The top teams will be going on to play the very best treasure hunters from Chesapeake in a cross-shard tournament. The victors will bring home a very special trophy that will be displayed proudly in their homeland, that is until the day they are challenged and defeated by any other shard.

To take part in the first competition on the 14th you will need to ready a team that meets the following requirements:
  • You may have between 2 and 5 members in your team. It is highly recommended having as close to 5 as possible.
  • One of your members must be a GM Treasure Hunter, having GM Cartography, GM Lock Picking. GM Mining is optional but under the new changes it is highly recommended.
  • On the day of the competition you will need to prepare a book with your member names listed on the first page. Your Treasure Hunter will need to be at the top.
I know it's not always easy to organize teams so I'd like to encourage our community leaders to help out where they can. Perhaps some forum posts and guild or alliance messages would be the thing to do. The chat channels in game are also a good place. There will likely be some teams formed on the night, but you better your chances greatly by hooking up early and perhaps practicing your game plan a few times in advance.

If you are a GM treasure hunter then you are in great demand. So please don't be shy in coming forward. You will no doubt find many hardy combatants wanting to fight by your side. Pop a post on the forums advertising your skills.

EM Dudley of Chesapeake has assured me we don't stand a chance. Lets prove him wrong and be the very first shard to get our names on that trophy.Image
