Some of you may already know in an overclocking mishap I seem to have fried my southbridge chipset. In my failure to double check my work I forgot to reattach my southbrige heatsink/fan so my cooling efforts failed to work and she go poof. so....I will have very limited internet access untill my new motherboard arrives. hopefully it will be here sometime next week. I went with this just incase anyone was curious.

I have seen smoke come out and still workie. A friend shorted his soundblaster card more than 10 years ago, and the card still works to this day.

Which reminds me, all of my 1st computer stuff still works, but all the latest and greatest seems to go bad within two years. Hmm.. Starting to think they are making things with shorter life spans on purpose! Think of all the old equipment you have in the closet, I bet it is there just because it is old not broken, and all the broken stuff in the garbage is the new improved. Well, in my house anyway.. 486 in closet still works, p4 in floor not so much.

I am waiting till my company is ready to toss a server rack, so I can put a linux cluster together with all my old PCs. 8)
