Blacksmith Bod changes - reposting from stratics

Postby Eleanor Rigby » Tue Nov 20, 2007 10:11 am

For any of you that still do bods, I thought this might be of interest. Wilki posted this yesterday......

"As I mentioned in a previous FoF thread, I've made some changes to the BOD system. They're not huge, but it should make things a little more rewarding.

Corrected a small error that gave skilled smith's a 45% base chance to get a colored BOD instead of the intended 50% chance.

GM Smiths still get a 10% bonus chance for a colored BOD (60% total).

Elder Smiths get a 20% bonus chance for a colored BOD (70% total).

Legendary Smiths get a 40% bonus chance for a colored BOD (90% total).

The chances of getting a valorite BOD (once you've passed the colored BOD test), have been raised substantially.

There is also a short delay (5 seconds) between turning in multiple filled BODs.

Colored footwear large bods should now be offered.

All runic tools have had their intensity ranges changed as follows:
Blacksmithing:
Dull Copper: 40 - 100

Shadow: 45 - 100%

Copper: 50 - 100%

Bronze: 55 - 100%

Gold: 60 - 100%

Agapite: 65 - 100%

Verite: 70 - 100%

Valorite: 85 - 100%
Tailoring:
Spined: 40 - 100%

Horned: 45 - 100%

Barbed: 50 -100%

This won't make it into the very next publish, but should be in the one after that. "

Very nice, I'll hold off on working BODs for a while until this gets implemented.

I've edited the post, because Wilki has changed some things. For any crafters out there, the thread is very interesting to read. I won't post the link, but it's under Stratics UO Hall "Blacksmith and Tailoring BOD changes " .

Malachai, I was thinking the same thing myself. Other than the bods for POF, I haven't been filling smithing bods, just saving them - unlike the tailoring bods!

Well, either way, I gotta get my smithy/tailoring up to 120.

I worked smithy from 113 to 114.5 last night, only cost me about 2 hours and 10k ingots.

Anyone have any regular iron ingots for sale in bulk quantities?

I will check when I get ingame...I may still have a bunch of ingots unless I donated them to the crafter's house which is entirely possible

Malachai,
If you need ingots, I think Karyn is sitting on 50-60k of them. She is selling them at 95k for 10k ingots, but they would go free to you. Just give me a yell.

nah, no prob. Eleanor actually hooked me up from the crafter house to work it a little bit (since I never used crafter house ingots to work to GM in the first place).

I'm at 118.5 right now.

When I finish I'm gonna start working tailoring, which will require a LOT of leather. I think I'm only at 106 tailoring right now.

Anyway, I noticed the intensities for the runics will be changing as well, which means the lower end runics will still have a chance of making 100% intensity items, just with fewer mods. This is a positive step in my opinion, mainly because currently spined kits are worthless and horned are nearly worthless.

Regardless, it's great to have you on our side, Vin!

I checked my smith, he is at 108. Suggestions on how to get him to legendary quickly?

Well, I found last night the most ingot-effective gains will come from "royal circlets". They are about the same difficulty of plate legs, and only use 6 ingots apiece instead of 20 for the legs, 25 for the tunic. And technically they can take you to 120. I made them up to 118.7 so far.
