Can someone please answer this one.I just read on stratics that anatomy gives mages a defense bonus Is this information correct, or has that been nerfed and outdated like alot of other information on there?
I am 99.99999999999% sure that Anatomy has NOTHING to do with Magery.
wow guys...
(Eval+anat)/2=defensive wrestle skill Meaning, your eval skill and your anatomy skill averaged is defensive wrestle. What is defensive wrestle you may ask? Well, simply, when you are getting whacked on by some ZOMG1337 dexxer, the game does a check to see if the hit lands. It compares his weapon skill, i.e. swords, fencing, etc. with your weapon skill. If you don't have one, but you do have 120 eval, it'll roll his say 120 fencing, against your 60 defensive wrestle, instead of your 0 weapon skill. This allows for people to work in a little less defense for fewer points. A 120 mage with 80 anat will have the equivalent of GM wrestling. Umm, questions?
On each successful hit with a weapon during combat, a passive check is made to your anatomy skill. If successful, you add up to 65% to the damage depending on your skill level.
Anatomy plays a large role in determining the amount of damage healed when using the Healing skill. At a skill level of 65 you will be able to see other peoples stamina level as a percentage. Having a high Anatomy and Evaluate Intelligence skill helps dodging blows in empty-handed combat.
Yeah that's an old one, but it's not that great. 120 eval plus 120 anatomy gives somewhere near the same defense as 120 wrestling, but you have NO offense aside from your magery, so if you wanna disarm someone, you'll need to have the wrestling or a weapon skill anyway.
That's why it's not necessarily common knowledge, because it's not that great and few people use it. Last edited by Tracy on Thu Nov 30, 2006 8:29 am, edited 1 time in total.
And actually, doing the math, the defensive bonus is exactly the same if you have 120 wrestling vs. having 120 anatomy and 120 eval.
(120+120)/2 = 120 defense chance (and no hit chance, 2% hit chance based on game mechanic minimum) 120 wrestling = 120 defense chance (and 120 hit chance). These do not stack. 120 wrestling and 120 eval isn't to be read as [(120+0)/2]+120 = 180 defense chance. It doesn't stack, so don't waste the time skilling them both up. If you wanna go the anat route, far be it from me to tell you no. But where's the benefit?
