If you get a chance, watch the movie 1776. It's a musical, but it's very accurate and extremely educational. American independence changed the world, and as a history buff, I'm amazed at how many of us fail to appreciate the sacrifices of so many people, rich and poor, old and young, male and female, that made our independence possible.
