The last time I made a t-hunter I trained lockpicking while dischorded by a satyr but I can't seem to get it to work anymore...has anyone used this technique to train any skills recently?

I've been doing the same... I'm at about 95 or so and mid to high 60s while discorded. I'm only getting about 2 gains per 100 picks now so it almost seems as if I'm getting same same gains as i would without being discorded.

I don't have GM locked chests (work carp 75 chests and 2 paragon chests) so that might make a diff.

It seems that *maybe* gains may be linked to your real skill level once you pass a certain point.

I will make up some GM-crafted/locked boxes for you guys, if you want them. I can hook up with you in-game even though I have only been on to get my daily gains lately (I get bored and burnt out every 6 months or so and slow way down.)

I always thought that once you get your skill to a certain level, that you should take off any jewelry with that particular skill on it. I am under the impression that you will gain faster that way.

not using any jewelry and I am gaining now...I was just to low for it to do me any good there yet....I am good now...thank you though

Also I think i've confirmed that the satyr trick seems to stop working at some point whne your actual skill is over 90.

I have 98 carp and thought i would use this trick to finish my gains ... 2000 boards and no gains after my guarenteed..

i did lockpicking awhile back and did 50 to gm in less than 4hrs at sytars at DH but that was yrs ago. I remember you had to have like 100 gm boxes tho. You have to lock pick each box untill it opens then go to the next box. then when you gain start over again. I remeber people haveing problems when they have too few boxes. I know i was naked with 100 boxes a lot of picks and a few conflag pots. no armor no nothing. a lot of people don't like doing that but it allowed me to carry more boxes.

Ah, then I need some GM boxes. Of course I spent the day trying to use Satyrs to level the last 2 points of carpentry with no luck ... go figure

i have trained LP there once about three years ago and I had no serious problems using 20 boxes...I currently have a macro set up to use 60 boxes but everytime i tried to do it today he would NOT dischord me....he would sic the other stuff on me and peace me but i could not get him to dischord me....after getting killed a few times i gave up

if u are familiar with PAS bagball house, theres a tmap house next door (NW). In that house, level one, is a table dedicated to working lockpicking. Theres a rune to the THB lp house, but theres also runes to a series of locked chests in the Yew crypts, in Vesper bank, and some other places. Those will give skill gains when u hit the cap on man made chests to LP.

They also respawn fairly quick. if u go to a spot, u can see one disappear every 5 min or so, and another take its place. Its still slow gains, but u can recall to an area, lp the chests, recall to the next, and some new ones will be back at the original recall spot to keep trying.

I was so ed with gains that I finally just took my .1 gain each night for the last 30 gains. Took a month, but I finally made gm lp.

If you need a rune to bagball, ask any PAS, as most of us have a rune there.

THB LP house and the THB Tower also has Lock picking location rune books, at the LP house it is on the 3rd floor on the table, at THB tower its in the Library on the 2nd floor in the lower corner nearest the main entance. [SE side.] In the days before the Satyr we also did as KD did and went thru those locations every evening to get our GGS.

There was many a night when I run my wife's character to get that GGS and hated that it was taken so long. When the Satyr trick was found I was so glad to see a way for folks to GM the skill then go thru what we old timers had to.

I can at least get about .2 per 150/200 lps with Satyrs. Would probably be more with 20 or so GM chests. If anyone can make them I'll gladly pay. ICQ - 93303733

I'll whip you up some GM boxes tonight and try to get in touch with you in-game.......assuming I get through my nuclear stress test in a couple hours. Quite nervous at the moment.

LoL/Myst, I have 16 GM chests for you free of charge. I looked for you last night ingame but wasn't successful. I'll keep looking.
