100% damage weapons

100% damage weapons

How do you make a weapon that is 100% of a certain (non-physical) damage type? I see that using different ingots will give you a mixture, but then I see for sale some items that are, for example, 100% fire or cold. I would love to be able to make such weapons. What is the trick?

not sure on the new way to make items, but 100% weps have always dropped on monsters randomly for many years.

The 100% poison weps have been the most desired because golems have 100% poison resist. So you can pound them with a 100% poison wep and do no damage.

When crafting with runics, split damage types are a "freebie" It can be any random combo of damage types including 100% of one type, eg: Fire, Poison etc. I crafted quite a few last night with DC hammers trying to get weapons with 30% SSI.

You can also find them as loot off of mobs.

Also, when using different color ingots, the Elemental Damage Type is always taken from the Physical %. In the end, if the Elemental Damage(fire, poison, energy, cold) is higher than the Physical Damage %, the weapon will change color to match it's highest damage type.

The color will be a brighter hue the higher the Damage Type %.

EG: A Weapon with 100% fire damage will be brighter and more vibrant than a 75% Fire, 25% Physical damage weapon, but they will both still be orange.
You can't spell "slaughter" without "laughter!"

Without any references...

To my understanding, if you craft a weapon out of any metal you choose using any level of runic hammer, you have a chance of creating a weapon that has different damage types than what was intended for the metal type you selected.

In other words, to make a 100% fire weapon, use a runic hammer and any metal you want. I recommend trying it on test center. I recommend using iron because it will not put any additional fail stats on it that you don't want (like lower requirements) that might prevent you from imbuing something more useful onto the item.

An example (this is just if I remember right): I used a dull copper runic hammer (the worst kind) on test center using iron as the material with 120 smith/100 lore to craft some weapons. I crafted several 100% elemental damage weapons including a 100% fire damage radiant skimmy.

I hope I'm right and I hope I helped. Please post a confirmation if I am right (or wrong).

Also, if you get any 100% x damage double axes, leaf blades, radiant skimmys, katanas, ok, well, just about any weapon you don't want, please let me know : p

Nice, I will try to make some 100% damage ones with DC hammers. For certain monsters, this can save having to cast Consecrate weapon.
