Elections for city governors are this week. You just need to be a citizen of that city to vote at that city's stone (near the bank).
You can only vote in each city once per account, so spread your votes over multiple elections. Several of the elections are uncontested, so it's more helpful to vote in the contested cities.*

I wish they had a straight ticket vote option for PAS *grins*

My chars and Cami's characters all voted.

A reminder, each character can vote, but only one char per account can vote in a particular city election. So be sure to write down which chars voted where, because if you mess one up that char won't be able to vote when you withdraw your citizenship from a city.

To vote in Pinco's, click your char, then paperdoll, then character sheet, and then scroll to the page that lists all the cities and your citizenship. Then left click the town you want to join and click yes, and it should now show as the selected town at the bottom.

To withdraw citizenship, right click on the name of the one you want to drop and then ok. Just remember, theres some kind of timer before you can become a citizen in another city.

Let's get out and vote for the folks we know to show them our support.

Is anyone planning to make the 5 SSI trade deal as governor? That's what Melchior (aka Run Run Shaw) and I (aka Samuel L Jackson) were hoping to do in Jhelom.

I havent had a chance to see how that post election stuff works.

Would those be temporary changes while you were the citizen of a city?

According to the Publish 81 notes, "Trade deals can be changed once per real world week and persist indefinitely." So a new governor could choose to do nothing, and the 2 million fee could last forever.

Excellent! So is anyone doing 5% SSI for a trade contract?

Don't know what that means. have to read up on the trade thing.

SSI would be great. Although I'd really like to do the SDI one for New Magincia. I'm just waiting to coordinate with everybody else first before I commit. Most all my characters are mages so I'd make them all citizens of New Magincia for that buff.

The trade deals are the best part of the election, and any character can use them. Like real world politics, a particular desire can induce people to vote for a certain candidate, even moving to a new city that gives them what they want, or moving to a new city where they can take control of the government.

Upon accepting the office a Governor may:
• Grant a title to a citizen by accessing the context menu on the City Stone
• Governors can only grant titles to the Citizen of their City
• Characters may remove their city title by accessing the City Stone and selecting “Remove City Title”
• Governors may remove City titles by leaving the title input form blank
• Titles do not persist through character transfer and will be removed if a character denounces citizenship
• Titles will expire at the conclusion of the Governor’s term in office

Open a Trade Deal with an NPC guild
• Trade deals cost 2,000,000gp from funds obtained from the City Treasury.
• The City Treasury can be donated to by dropping gold or checks on the City Herald near each City Stone.
• The City Treasury is subject to a daily 5% reduction above 10,000gp to pay for general City Services.
• Trade deals can be changed once per real world week and persist indefinitely.
• Citizens may utilize the trade deal for 24 hours by visiting the City Stone and selecting “Utilize Trade Deal” from the context menu.
• Trade Deals Include:
Guild of Arcane Arts: +5% Spell Damage Increase
Society of Clothiers: +1% Resist bump to all resists
Bardic Collegium: +1 Faster Casting
Order of Engineers: +3 Dexterity Bonus
Guild of Healers: 5% Bandage Healing Bonus
Maritime Guild: +2 Hit Point Regeneration
Merchant’s Association: +2 Mana Regeneration
Mining Cooperative: +3 Strength Bonus
League of Rangers: +3 Intelligence Bonus
Guild of Assassins: +5% Swing Speed Increase
Warrior’s Guild: +5% Hit Chance Increase
