Ah... the good ole days!

Talk about anything that's clean.

Trinsic, yeah, that was the place. Hunting reagents just outside, but staying close to the gates. Reds couldn't come in town then.

Moonstones, having to find one so I could get back to Tram.

Casting a wall of fire then walking through it to gain resist.

Banding together with people to kill gazers or what ever would wander up to our houses. And having to open the door to refresh your house.

And NOV (Nasty Old Vikings), the first guild I was in on Great Lakes. Most moved on to other games, I was the lucky one that came to Sonoma and ended up in PAS.

rofl and for those that didnt witness it, I would take on any PAS one on one after Heroes (our pvp event one on one) each month, and I wouldnt wait for mana in between. So I usually got the crap knocked outta me (hence the Kill the King title of the event), but every so often I would get lucky and kill someone.

Well I had just beaten someone and was strutting around and tevvin was next up. I guess this was before I ran KD with protection on, but anyways, he just starts shooting magic missles outta his butt and I stand there, taking slap after slap, slowly dying, without being able to heal or anything, and after like 200 of them in a row I die without even scratching him.

ROFL.

Oh well it was the opposite of the real old pvp story of year 2 of UO. Bigdady was an awesome pvper and was in PAS, and after Heroes he challenged me to a duel. OK, so hes a big huge pvper, and Im umm .. NOT .. hehe anyways Im a tank mage with a friggen bardiche (oooh how scary hehe). So Im running around trying to stay alive (and remember this is in the back room of a large smithy, the original hq1, so hardly any room. I keep running, threw like 2-3 ebolts, for some reason he didnt heal and went in to slap me for the kill, and I hit him with 3 straight shots of the bardiche and BOOM BOOM (as Pat Travers would say) .. out go the lights.

I mean EVERYONE is going nuts and typing ingame (this was before vent), and icqing me and DeGuy walks up to me and says "think how well you would have done if you had your helmet on" DOH! Forgot to put on my helmet even ... rofl.

Anyways Bigdady bugs me for like 3 weeks "I wanna rematch, cmon!" and I keep putting it off so I could say I beat him for another week or so .. hehe then he duels me again and kills me in like 20 seconds hehe.

So he got face again and was happy.

And I had a great story that couldnt be taken from me no matter how many times I died after that.

Another quick funny Heroes ... in RL I knew Travis and a guy we called Ratman. Anyways hes a scrawny guy in RL and he wins Heroes one night and yells "NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE SCRAWNY GUY". ROFL that was funny.

OK Ill save a few more for later.

oh hell its probably me *smiles*.

That dang ninja hiding archerying goober killed me all the time in Magincia/minoc madness (PAS pvp for an hr for fun).

I would be minding my own business, running around just poisoning people *snickers* and then WHAM Im off my mount and 5 or 6 PAS jump me!

I bet if they tracked dismounts, Montini would have 400-500 just with my name on it :)

dont forget KD that you would also hang out on a roof top, casting spells down on people. My response was to shadow jump up and sneak up behind you and WHAM!! FACEPLANT!

hey that was MY ROOF and YOU were TRESPASSING! *smiles*

Hell if I couldnt stay on the roof and shoot down at random passers by, how else was I going to get hits on people?

Remember, I still own the record for 28 deaths in one PAS event (MM) in less than an hr. My butt had so many arrows in it I thought it was a pincushion!

(and it was).

I am wide awake and my choices are to mess around on the laptop or watch the pathetic offerings of TV at 2:30 AM. I had put off reading this thread for just such an occasion (I'm all caught up now, btw.) I laughed out loud at some of these and smiled all the way through them.

I actually still have the keys to a couple of my houses. Remember we had separate keys that we had to use for interior doors?

I remember placing a house in Tram when it was new and forgetting that account was "grandfathered" with 5 houses on it alone. I lost them all. Wouldn't it be nice to have those houses for each character on that account again.

I remember selling a Blue Tent deed back to the vendor thinking "I'll never need a tent again." (I haven't seen a tent deed since.)

I remember when I was in the KtL Guild (Keepers of the Light) and we only had like 20 people in it but were still in the top 10 list of guilds.

I remember when one of the GMs ran a quest just for the KtL Guild. It was entitled The Quest for the Sword of Light. When we finished the quest, we found The Sword of Light (with that label.) It was, and is, the only one in the entire game and all of the shards. My old guildmaster still has it in his bank box and he hasn't played in over 7 years. Every once in a while I will email him and beg to buy his account, just so I can get my rares-loving hands on that sword.

I remember when I ran into a bunch of Mongbats outside of Moonglow the first day I played and running like hell for fear they were going to have me for lunch (and they probably would have.)

I remember when I bought a small workhouse from a guy in Fel and forgetting to mark a rune to it before I left it. I was too weak to run all the way to where I "thought" it was at without an Orc or something killing me, so I begged people at the Fel bank to go with me and help me find it. They were all like "this sounds like a setup...", so I died repeatedly before I finally found that house again and marked my rune.

I remember being rewarded a Silver Vanquishing Katana from the Old Hag quest. (That was the best weapon you could get in the game and the silver made it an undead slayer before there were slayer weps.) Everybody with me was jealous. I also remember losing it to a PK. That was a bad day. lol

I, too, remember taking a group to kill the Ogre Lord and thinking we didn't have enough people (and we almost didn't.)

I remember a group of us from KtL getting our butts kicked by one dragon in Destard. Meanwhile, another guildsman was dragging like 4 more to us thinking we could kill them all, totally unaware that we were being slaughtered.

I remember the chills that ran down my spine when I was adventuring and heard the evil laugh of a lich. I would run the other way.

I remember thinking I could outrun the Silver Snakes....in the jungle, no less. (I was educated that day.)
